    SUCCESS !!

Ok maybe i am jumping the gun a little but man I like that Pro Max prop, it came out of the hole well, it still has two full plugs in the pvs so I have a chance at even better hole shot,, I did not get to run it with wells full, fishing got in the way. The boat got up to 75 real quick, I did not have good lake conditions at all so I was not going to air it out, the boat rode and handled awesome, I think i have found my prop. Can't wait to get on a lake with good conditions and see what it will do, will probably be this fall sometime. It is a Pro Max 25.5 pitch in the pro finish, I will update more as i get a chance to run it, thanks guys for all the help and suggestions.

The promax is an awesome prop especially for the money.

Hot Damn!!!!! I was hoping that the Pro Max would do it for your boat. I am still chasing a 28 or 29 Pro Max but have to sell a few of the ones I have in the inventory before I can throw more money into it. Congrats and I am looking forward to see your progress.

    That is awesome!!!

I've been chasing different set ups on my 20xdc and 250R (1:75 sportmaster) still not found the perfect set up but I think I'm getting close. These things are fickle for sure!

No I did have one that I only ran once and wish that I had it back. I have gotten several PM's so I will post here what I may have up for sale in the near future. A 26 Bravo FS, 30 Bravo Lab, 28 Hydrodynamics P-5, and a Hill Signature 28 Drag 5 thru hub.

How do you guys think a pro max 4 would do on my 20xdc with the 250R (325hp)? Is the pro max stiffer? Would I need to go down in size? I was thinking a 30, is that too much????

I am thinking you are correct but the 325hp and 6800 rpm throws me off. I have had my best run with a 30 Pro Max and in each of a 28 for the soul reason of a hole shot issue. I do believe that with your hull you could turn a 28 Pro max to the limiter would be around 95+ with 8% slip. I turned the 30 to 6250 and saw 89.2.....6800 on the same lower unit and a lighter hull with a 28 should be the ticket.

Thanks for the info Elwood!! I agree on the 28. I would rather be able to turn to the limiter, that way if I happen to carry a little heavier load for fishing it wont kill my hole shot completely.

I have access to a 32 Bravo OB lab finish............do you think its too much prop?????? Do you think it will completely kill my hole shot and not turn the rpms on top???

Brother I am sorry but I don’t think you will be able to turn it. I have a 30 lab that I can get to 6300. Hole shot is slow but when I am by myself it is a fun high 80,s prop for me. I am trying my last five blade tonight if it does not work then I will get into some pro max props fast. The 32 is free to run. Give it a run!!!!

To add to the success thread! I did a little experiment with the Hydromotive P-5 prop that I sent back. After a long talk and a little analysis on what has worked and what was not working we decided to try a odd modification to my 28 P-5. We cut the diameter down to 14 3/8 to see if I could turn the prop better on the bottom end and spin up quicker for a decent hole shot. Well I am happy to say it freaking worked! Not a 2-4 second break your neck hole shot but with empty wells and half tanks it was a good 5-6 second hole shot and with full wells I was getting 6-8 second hole shots. Huge improvement over past results. So it was the same or better than the 26 Bravo I had been running in tournaments. Top end was better also. Now I had crappy conditions and very short areas to push it but I did get her up to 84.8 with plenty left. It does drive very different than the Bravo FS so I have a little learning curve. I also think that i should not of had the barrel trimmed but Hydro suggested it before we trimmed the Diameter. I really think that I will get 86-87 out of the prop under good conditions. The mid range was also much better than when it was a 15 inch diameter prop. I am not sure that this will help everyone that is having hole shot problems but it was a small success that could lead down a trail of many successes and I did not lose any speed going down to a smaller diameter. I will post more results as I run the boat and get better water to push some of the limits. Cheers
