    New Ghost Update

See a new update for Ghost on the Lowrance page, 1.1.04. Anyone install it yet?

    Ghost Trolling Motor Software (1.1.04)
    Release Date: 13 July 2020

    Version: 1.1.04

Ghost Trolling Motor software version 1.0.03 is now available for download via the Lowrance mobile app or via a compatible display connected to a NMEA 2000® network.

Updating Trolling Motor Software via the Lowrance app

After downloading the Lowrance app, follow the onscreen instructions to pair your device with the Ghost Trolling Motor.
Once this process is complete, select Manage My Devices.
Select Ghost from the list, select Update firmware and proceed with the onscreen instructions.
The Lowrance mobile app is available for download for the following:

    iPhone or iPad at https://apps.apple.com/us/app/lowran...n/id1463931486
    Android devices at https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...rance&hl=en_US.

Updating Trolling Motor Software from a compatible display

Click the download button on this page and save the .zip file.
Extract the .swup file from the .zip file.
Place the .swup file onto an SD card.
With the Ghost powered on in the stowed or deployed position, insert the SD card into the display. Select Files/Storage, select the SD Card, then select the .swup file. Check the box on the right hand side of the screen next to Ghost Trolling Motor and select Upgrade.
Once your screen displays download complete, your foot pedal LEDs will begin to flash, followed by the directional indicator on the head. Please do not power cycle at this time, as the foot pedal and head are being upgraded. Once your 24/36 LEDs return to a solid state, the trolling motor will be fully upgraded and ready to use.

I'll do it Thursday or Friday. Fishing Saturday. I've never had an issue with updates, had Lowrance since 2006. Was trying to read what the update provides but the website appears to be down.

I did and had zero issues. I've been on the water twice now.

I updated this afternoon. It is still working. Haven't had it on the water yet. I am a little curious that they issued the update but there was no explanation on what the enhancements were.

Been installing it for the past several weeks... definitely smooths out a few issues....no known problems.

Just took the team a while to make it public for some reason...

I should have something I can post publicly shortly from the team but one thing that I can tell you is the speed control is more momentum aware when navigating to a waypoint or on a leg of a route. It will now start slowing down before arriving at a waypoint so it doesn't have to be as aggressive on the anchor lock on arrival.

    I never installed 1.1.03.
Can I go straight to 1.1.04 or should I do this sequentially?? might be a dumb question but I have to ask.

    Thanks

You can go straight to 4...no problem...

    Summary of changes in 4...

    - Improve anchoring for small boats - Less aggressive so that the Boat does not overshoot the target
    - Improve steering performance for the 3-in-1 nosecone - Additional torque for the added resistance
    - Improve block detection
    - Improve LED and buzzer behavior for alerts and errors - Arrow indicator mimics the error tones

Thank you. Updated to 4 just a while ago.

One last question. I can go into system/about and look at the current software version that I'm running. Can I do this to see/verify version 4 on the Ghost? I'm running Carbons.

Pretty sure it doesn't show on the System About. You can see it on the Lowrance app on your phone.

Hey mean dean, I just downloaded the sd card on my HDS with the 1.04 and it automatically did and install. Ouch, it now doesn't recognize my ghost at all. Any ideas on how to restore?
    Thanks Mike

mean dean, never mind, partial Id10T error on my part. It didn't recognize the ghost until I took out the card when starting it for the second time. It still didn't have the 1.04 installed, so then you notes worked perfectly. There must have been some other software that it installed on the unit.
    Thanks again Mike

Maybe this one will help me, I've got an 18 footer and when I hit anchor lock while moving a little bit it is so aggressive to get to that spot, I've actually started letting the boat totally stop before hitting it.

It's not just in small boats! Mine is 21' and I still find it's better to be nearly stopped before hitting anchor.

If the motor gets "blocked" by stump or obstacle, it has a feature that turns off the prop. In some cases, the block detection was too sensitive causing the motor to turn off for no reason.
