Good price on Evinrude or go with Yamaha

I probably know the answer to this but I thought I would ask it anyway. I am looking at a new boat and there is a 2019 that is discounted but it has a 115 Evinrude HO on it. The 2020s have a Yamaha VF115LA. In general I would prefer the Yamaha but there is about a $3000 savings for the Evinrude. I am concerned that I may not get the support that I need on the Envinrude if I start having issues. Thoughts?

    Thanks for the input.

From a guy who loves both of his Evinrudes.......go with the Yamaha. I have serious concerns with warranty work and parts availability in the not too distant future. (I have over 8 years left of warranty on one of mine.) In addition, the Yamaha is a great motor. Besides, you've already made your mind up. You stated you prefer the Yamaha and have concerns regarding future repair of the Evinrude. Go with your gut feeling.

See if you can get them to knock another 2 or 3 grand off the price citing the engine discontinuation by the manufacturer, they probably really want to get it off the lot having that engine on it. Run her until she pops and cannot be repaired while putting the money you saved in the bank for a repower down the road.

Thanks everyone. I might try mean_dean's suggestion but will walk away if I can't get a great deal. Boats are in short supply in NC right now so it makes it tempting.

Evinrude mechanics won't wake up one day and forget all he's been taught... Parts will always be available... You can still get parts for Force engines and they haven't been made for at least 20 years... If I was looking I wouldn't shy away from an Evinrude... Dan

BRC owns Evinrude and no issues with BRC, they decided to discontinue the Evinrude line of engines and without any prior notice.
Just pulled the plug one day and poof!
