7% farther according to Titleist scientist. So it might be one club on the shorter shots and 1.5-2 clubs on the longer ones. Also depends a lot on how far you can knock it to begin with.

I am going up to CO from Houston this Friday, but not golfing or fishing. Family trip for rafting, ATVing, and zip lines. Be nice to get out of this humidity. Have a great trip and report back on the fishing.

Coming in from the southeast side of Colorado from Arkansas.

Any fishing recommendations? I got a list of lakes from internet research. Don't mind a river either, just not too excited about fishing streams. Buddy of mine works for Rapala, so I got a sack full of small baits targeted toward trout.

I wouldn't mind hooking up with a guide for a half day of fly fishing just to get some idea of what to do. I've done that before in Taneycomo below Table Rock. One thing I learned, very subtle changes make a huge difference. I'm not too excited about trying to "figure out" productive fly fishing techniques, as my skill level at such things are about at level zero. Much easier to just chunk some hardware with the spinning gear.

Can I get away with 6lb or should I go with 4lb?

I'm curious to see how much further my golf ball will fly at 7,000 ft vs home at 1,100 ft.

Camper has A/C, heater, TV, sink, frig, stove, queen bed, toilet and I can fit my Zero Gravity recliner in it.

I wanna see more of that camper. Who makes it?

The stonefly bite in the Rio was on last week when we were there. Lots of good float trips available. Check with the fly shops in Creede and South Fork.
We stayed in Lake City and the fishing in the Lake Fork of the Gunnison was also exceptional. Big for the two weeks we were there was 78.
    Thanks

You can get away with 6lb, do 10 pound braid to 6lb fc leader and get some number 9 panther martins for the lakes and 4s and 6s for the streams.. and you are set.

Exactly this! only I would definitely change to 8lb braid down to 4lb depending on what you fish, if you are fishing small rivers, you may have to go down to 2lb leader but the panther martins work great.

I don’t fish down south much but echo canyon will be chocked full of weeds. Decent lake though

look up vallecito as it has a pretty good pike population and is scenic. Please release em if you catch any.

6lb is fine unless fishing creeks

if you have time visit durango and ouray.

heck with a wade fly fishing trip. Pay the extra and float. It’s a blast!

know your stream regulations, there are alot that that limit your type of baits you can use. I would say if you use rapalas you will be legal in most unless they are single hook only. Stay away from the corn like was mentioned above, that kills trout and isn't legal in most colorado streams anyway. Whirling disease did a number on the rainbow trout out there several years ago and they are just starting to make a comeback in alot of the rivers and streams.
