    Ranger 481v

    I have a 1990 ranger 481v with a gt175 on the back. The motor is good. Good compression, good spark. I have a 6in jack plate on it and I have it at 3.5 from prop to pad. I am only getting about 55 mph on a good day with one person it the boat with the motor turning 5400 rpm and around 16 psi on my water gauge. I have moved my jack plate but it seems every time I move it my speed goes away and rpm and water gauge stays about the same. Any thoughts?

    What prop do you have and what condition is it in?
