So, I got my hands on a 3.0 Alien cowling made by Chris Dunn. The question is can I run it without any mods to my ECU to account for the extra airflow? Dont want to hurt my motor. I am running a 2005 225 Pro XS.

So the last thread I saw about this subject went something like this: yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no!!!!!
Good luck. Personally I don't know either way, but I have a relative who has been running one on a 250 Pro XS for two+ years with no issues "with no calibration".

I bought one earlier this year and haven't seen any negative effects other than it is noisier than the stock 300xs cowl. The rig runs the same with or without it. I believe it looks better than stock. The person I purchased it from said the same thing, he was also running a 300xs.
They are noisy but muffle the compressor noise, i wish I had a stock cowl for family days on water...
I would call Joe from DBR and ask him
