Probably referring to the 3 washers on prop shaft just under prop nut. Just a guess though without more details.

Sounds like a racing hub kit with the prop and sleeve on shaft the three washers go large flat on first, belleville washer that's thin and cupped second then small flat washer third with the nut on last torqued to 55lbs. The belleville holds it together.
