    New 225 Pro xs

Have this motor on my pontoon. Now have 23 hours on motor. boat dealer said may take couple weeks to get 20 hr service they are so backed up. Question is can a dummy like me change the oil or should the experts do it to see any metal shavings from break in? Dealer said I could continue to run that they see lots of motors with 50 hours before service. I like the motor a lot.

Change the engine oil and lower unit oil, so easy it’s unbelievable.

If you would, please take a moment to review the Announcements at the top of the Forum, and be sure to provide the Required Info (serial number) when posting. Thanks!

Maintenance is quite simple- just make sure you use the correct materials (and the correct QUANTITIES). For example, you will NOT use 7 qts. of oil (more like 5.5-6 qts).
