    Trolling motor help

    Have a 190 w/200 merc and 36v maxxum pro trolling motor that I hope to upgrade soon. I would really like to reduce battery weight as 4 batteries affects my hole shot. Anyone have one of the new brushless motors in 24v on a 19' cobra? Is 36v a must? Lithiums would be nice but so would a head full of hair again. Not happening.

    When I picked up my 201D, it had an 80/24v Maxxum, I ran it for a while, and it done fine. Just wasn't the fastest thing of course, and didn't cover a lot of water on windy days.

    I run an 24v 80lb on my Coral 202 which is way heavier than your 190 and it is more than adequate.
