Drivers side cleat in a 1880.

I just Ordered my 1880 last Friday. I fish solo 99 percent of the time, so a cleat next to the drivers seat is very handy. Has anyone installed one or had one installed during the build process. I don’t want to surface mount one and have it get ripped out of the rail. Since I’ve never looked very closely at the rail is it possible to through bolt a cleat in that location after I receive the boat.

Are they through bolted or surface mount?

From what I can tell, the factory ones appear to be surface mounted too

i put one on each side in the center using two 1/4 in stainless steel metal screws. they are really strong. just like the original are.

Yes surface mount 2 1/4 inch screws

Yes I had the factory install one next to the driver's seat when I ordered mine in March. I also fish alone 99% of the time so it comes in VERY handy!

Ask your dealer to add it to the build sheet with the Vexus regional rep.

One of the reasons I went with a Vexus is I only heard no one time when I made a special request.

The cleat was not on the dealer build sheet. My dealer called his Vexus rep and had the cleat added.
