    Ufp A-60 brake line

I have a new to me ranger with ranger trail trailer. I’m trying to get the surge brakes working. I’ve just replaced the master cylinder and it’s apparent I have a blockage in the hose that goes from the master cylinder to the solenoid. Does anybody know if this hose is something I can get from an auto store or is it something that needs to come from s trailer supply or ranger?
    thanks in advance.

Are you referring to the short metal brake line or flexible hose? I needed a new metal brake line a couple of years ago and tried to flare the ends of a blank that I got at the auto parts store. I used a flaring tool and failed miserably. Went to a local auto repair shop and they made me one.

If you need a flexible hose type, some automotive part stores make hydraulic hoses.

    Are you talking about a short 3-4 " X 1/4' dia hose?

That hose would the reverse bypass hose.

    How is the blockage apparent?

The solenoid has to have power(12V) to open to allow fluid passage and is energized by the reverse circuit.

It’s not the hard line or return line. I took the lines off the solenoid and pumped the master cylinder and nothing came out of the main hose from the master cylinder.

Did you bleed the master cylinder? It can take some pumping to get them started.

Automotive store that makes hydraulic hoses or find a stock one that works.

I pumped it quite a bit. I took it off and tried to blow some air thru it with a compressor a little bit of it came thru. I'm not sure of the inside diameter of that hose is.

Thanks for the replies. Need some more help. I'm trying to bleeds the brakes by myself. I've got a tube on the caliper resting in a bottle with brake fluid in it. After much pumping the only action I see at the caliper is it seems I'm pumping the fluid that's in the bottle back up the hose. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

You have to close the bleeder between each pump stroke.

    or

Install these to bleed the brakes by yourself.

No need to close the bleeder with the end of the tubing submerged in fluid as he has.

The most common problem is air is sucked in at the bleeder base if you open it the bleeder too far.

Or the jar is not lower than the bleeder?

Or maybe the new master is not primed?

Thank you gentlemen for your help. I think the brakes are functional now. Definitely has a different feel when braking and backing.
