Do I need additional parts that didn't come with the trolling motor to connect the NMEA cable to a single HDS Live unit?
Yes. If you don’t already have a NMEA network in your boat, you’ll need to install one. At a minimum for 1 unit, a NMEA starter kit should do it. If you do have a network, then no, everything you need comes with the Ghost.
