    VRO bypass fuel pump question...

1996 Venom 200...model J200STLEOA...previous owner bypassed VRO, but didn’t replace fuel pump, just cut unnecessary hoses unplugged wiring harness, and plugged with screws as in pic 1...What issues will this cause, and should I replace the fuel pump? Also, clipped hoses hanging in pic 2 coming out near carbs...should these be plugged or what?

    Welcome to the BBC.
The VRO pic looks OK, that's the way we bypassed it before there were options.
Not sure about that second pic though, cant see where all that starts or ends.

    It should look like this.

it doesn't end, the hose in the middle comes out from the carbs, then is just hanging loose, like it was just clipped and left in there. none of the hoses that come out of the carbs go anywhere.

Click on the picture I attached, it will give you the correct routing for the fuel lines, it even shows the primer lines.

You might also take the tee just above the fuel filter out and toss it.

should/would the hose routing be the same after converting the vro fuel pump? i ask because its a boat new to me, was running fine all day, then at the end of the day, would die as soon as i tried to put it into gear, would only stay idling if i was giving it gas. after a while of trying in vain to get it to run in gear, it stopped even starting or idling...took it home, hooked up the muffs, and it was like nothing happened...started investigating the fuel pump and found the hoses to nowhere...

Yes on the hose routing, if you look at the picture you will see there is no oil line to the VRO, just like yours.

You did mix oil in the fuel at 50:1, one pint of oil to every six gallons of gas, correct?

Just think how much better it will run with all six carbs getting fuel.

If the bare port in your deleted post is the upper port on the intake it needs to have a cap on it. If it is coming out of the lower intake then there is a hose that goes from it to the back side of the air box.
