    Mercury 250 Pro XS 4 stroke prop nut

    Mercury 250 4 stroke sn 2b576193 can’t break prop nut loose . I have used impact and a large breaker bar And still
    cant break prop nut loose. Any suggestions?

    Are there any tabs in place to keep nut from backing off? If so they have to be straighten or moved so nut can be turned. If not and you can't back off with breaker bar I would assume bad threads and big problem!

    NEVER use an impact on the propnut as it can cause galling damage to the nut/shaft.

    When was the prop last removed?

    When you say "large breaker bar" what length bar are you referring to?

    Also- just so we don't overlook the "obvious"- you are turning the nut CCW (COUNTER Clock-Wise) when attempting to remove it?
