Crosstail shad, dreamshot, half shell, killshots, etc ...
I always rigged them flat side down (succesfully !) but I am just curious what others do :-)

I have same question on the new missle baits --ned bait. Rig with tail flat or vertical ? I have been using it with tail flat

I’ve been using Berkley Maxscent flatworms with great success the last couple years, and always rigged them flat side down. This year I tried them flat side up, and seemed to have baits thrown from the hook almost every fish. Might’ve just been a coincidence but I think I’m going back to flat down as I didn’t seem to lose as many baits before

The fish don't seem to care. They refuse to get hooked on my drop shot presentations. They bite, then laugh as I try to catch them.
Down.
Round side, I mostly use 4" senkos on a 2/0 offset worm hook.

I had a guy on the St. Lawrence explain to me that the flat is supposed to go down. He claimed that it made the bait fall to the bottom with a slight added shimmy that supposedly made it look more like a goby. Not sure it actually does that but seemed possible.
Doubt it makes any difference.
Drop shot don't think it matters, but anything with a flat side generally goes to the bottom. Have seen it make a difference on split shot, carolina and wieghtless rigs.
