I sold my 18 foot Champion last year and bought a 919 Phoenix. Most my fishing is done on the St Johns River.

When I had my 17’ Alumacraft Pro V I pulled that boat everywhere. Did quite a few 1200-1300 mile round trips to lakes.Put it in places that had no ramps, put it places where glass boats couldn’t go. That was 40 years ago, then kept getting bigger, heavier glass boats. I have only done a couple 1200 mile round fishing trips in the last 15 years, pulling my boat. Love my 21 footer, just tired of pulling it.way too many unconscious people on the roads these days.

There are times I would like to have a bigger boat, and my Sabre will probably give way to a bay boat at some point. It is a handy size for 1-2 anglers. 3 can fish if they know what they are doing. Besides, the looks I get when I run down a boat sporting a much bigger engine are priceless. The salt water guys here are astounded by a 175 on an 18’ boat.

I had a 2015 Nitro Z7, and I bought a Z20 this past February because fishing on Lake Guntersville and some other high traffic lakes around here beat you up. I still get hit with those wakeboat waves...who doesn’t! But I sold my Z7 at a super great price and it took two months to do it because people at least here wants a boat for less than $10,000 and be equipped like a $30,000 rig.
I sold mine for about $5,000 less than market value but the person who did get it was thrilled beyond belief and I was happy to help him get his first bass boat.
Here in Alabama it’s usually a tin rig with a 25hp, or a 20+’ with a 250hp or more. The in between boats are being phased out.

Around my parts the used market is hot and anything in decent shape moves fast! It's very much a sellers market.. There's well over a dozen 17-20 foot boats on the market under 10k, and another half dozen+ between 10 and 15k within 200 miles. If you are looking north of 15K around here you're looking at 18+ footers and fairly new.

I am actually thinking of selling my 21' Triton and getting a new 18'. Retirement is this coming Spring and I think maybe the 18 footer, (now that they are wider) will be easier for me to fish/mange when I am by myself. I do not fish tournaments.

I was looking at getting a trade in quote on my 05 18ft stratos and the dealer told me they would rather not because they would have to sit on it to long. 20 and 21ft boats go a lot faster I guess.

It's on my boat lift. Thought I would be fishing alone. Now that I have friends over every other weekend to fish, I'll be upgrading this winter.

I love my 30yr old BassTracker 1800TF with the original 150XP ‘Rude. However, I do love the looks of the old Ranger 361V and the BassCat Pantera of any year.

They don't necessarily go a lot faster. The one in my signature is pretty fast. Not a lot slower than some 20 footers.
