    Shifter removal

Trying to fish a new wire from the console to my battery. If i could pull the shifter out and the panel behind it i could get it. I have a 2016 fx20. With a 250 sho.

Well, when you do, fish a spare wire with the new one in case you ever need to pull another one through.

I used an old one piece fiberglass rod with no guides, they will really bend and go around corners.

On mine, if I remember correctly, I just removed the screws holding the plate on and it came away from the side panel far enough for me to run the wires. I didn't remove the shifter handle from the mounting plate. I also removed the carpeted piece beside the battery compartment lid which made it a straight shot.
