    2 Mega 360 questions

    1) Is it not possible to save waypoints with the 360?

    2) I did not connect the drain shield wire to anything (just tapped it up) and my unit appears to work fine. Will I get better clarity if I tie it into my negative wire?

    1. Yes, IF you have a Heading Sensor connected and have 360 Navigation turned on.

    2. No, but you may get corroded assembly screws and wet switch contacts. The current installation instructions state to put the negative wire and drain wire together.

Wayne, any issues running the drain wire direct to a ground on its own? Asking for a friend....

Connect it to the Neutral of the battery "somewhere".

Thanks for the reply, I assume the Ultrex Minn Kota positioning puck will not suffice?

The Minnkota Heading Sensor is powered by the battery, so it has a negative connection. That would be included in "somewhere".

It would be easier to just tie the negative and drain wire together at the end of the power cable. Would not have to run an extra wire anywhere.
Don't need to complicate a simple connection.

I apologize Wayne, I mean can the Minn Kota puck (I-Pilot puck) be used in lieu of the Humminbird heading sensor to utilize the 360 waypoints?

I assigned both my Helix 9 3s to the i-pilot link (trying to use my Ultrex puck as the heading sensor) but I'm still not able to save a way point from the Mega 360 images. Any thoughts?

Did you turn on 360 Navigation?

Marking and displaying waypoints on the 360 view is not automatic.
