    Fuel ball

This may be a dumb question, but what position should the fuel ball be facing? Up, down, horizontal?

Don’t know if there is a proper orientation for the ball, but both of mine are pretty much horizontal.

Shouldn't matter as long as the arrow represents fuel flow.

The reason I ask is sometimes I take the boat off the trailer under power and let it warm up and it has stalled. I crank, crank, crank doesn’t start. If I pump the ball it cranks, and I noticed sometimes when running it blips every once in a while and I’m wondering if that is part of it.

Should not matter as mentioned. I would suggest getting the OEM Yamaha Fuel Bulb.

It works best with the arrow pointing up.

Mine lays in the splash well, if I try pumping it there it will not build up pressure, if I lift it to where it is pointing up it builds pressure fine but doesn't seem to matter once it's pressurized. Seems as if you have a leak of some kind if it's not holding pressure while running.

I align mine to within 14 degrees of true north; of course, corrected for deviation.

(assuming your are in northern hemisphere)

Or it just lays in the splashwell, I forget
