Is it ok to Leave the inline fuse when connecting power supply to Fuse Box?

I'm wiring my Garmin GLS Black box to my Blue Sea Fuse Block under the console of my boat. I went ahead and left the inline fuse that comes on the power cord and just attached the cord to the Fuse block which also has a 7.5amp fuse at the terminal connection I used to connect the power wire. Is this ok to do? I really don't want to crawl under there and re-do it if I don't have to....I will if I need to tho.
    Thanks

Shouldn't be a problem. In the event of a short, the smaller fuse will blow first.
