    Rub Rail Question

I took my wife fishing over the weekend and when I put the boat back on the trailer I noticed about 14” of the rub rail popped out. I think the dock caught the rail and pulled it as my wife was holding the boat when I was getting the trailer. I was able to get the rail back into place fairly easy but would rather not have it come out again.

is there anything I should do to help keep the rub rail in place? There’s no rips or tears in the rubber and the boat has rivers instead of screws so I probably won’t ever take the rail off unless it becomes damaged.

I use a rubber mallet to replace the rope in the rub rail after tightening my cap screws.
