    4th walleyes

My buddy and his wife drug their small boat down to Erie to school me and the wife in the ways of the Lake Erie walleye. Good time was had by all...... except the 'eyes. Once he got dialed in to the program, it didn't take too long to get our 24.

We're allowed 6 per person. The walleye population is absolutely absurd. Biologists estimate there are about 100 million walleye, two years and older, in Lake Erie.

I was wanting one til I fished out of it. It's a fantastic walleye/salmon platform, but would be a tough fish for bass. You can't even touch the water when you lean over the side. I want a Pro-V again.

My cooler looked exactly the same on Saturday. 24 is a 3 man limit for us. They're a fun fish to catch on spinning gear casting. We boated around 40 by 1pm and got off the water. Very delicious blackened on the skillet!

Next time try crawler harnesses. Much better time than trolling...more live action.

Nice day. Wish I could fill a cooler like that and put some filets in the skillet.

We were. Crawler harnesses on bottom bouncers at 1.4-1.6 mph. Had 4 harnesses on jets on boards too, but the bottom bouncers pulled most of the fish

Meant for casting, but thats a good way to do it too. I just love casting jigs and harnesses for walleye...or even saugeye. I keep coming back for that bite! Plus the blackened walleye is divine.
