    Anchoring a Tri-toon

Does anyone here have a toon and specifically experience with anchoring?
Over the 4th I had the toon out every afternoon and with the winds we had last week I had the need to anchor up. Short of storing a large anchor on board (toons catch a lot of wind) is there an automated way to do this?

Folks here use fluke style anchors and electric winches fore and aft. We need 200' of rope...

Wow, I have never seen that before.
I have no problem buying an anchor; for my size boat I would think at least 40-50 pounds for sure.
Although the Sea-Legs concept is interesting, I was looking for something between that elaborate and just throwing an anchor over the side

I’ve had a Minn Kota Deckhand 40 with a 30 lbs. SeaSense Vinyl coated River Anchor (Mushroom type with 3 flukes). It’s never failed to hold our Southbay pontoon (22’10” w/150 Honda OB). I had 3 kids and 4 adults anchored in 10-15 MPH winds this past week and it held steady throughout the day.
I have a neighbor who installed the same setup on a 24’ Bennington (200 SHO) and he loves it.
I do carry a spare 15 lbs. anchor “just in case”. I’ve never used it.

25lb anchor, 6ft chain, and a minimum of 3/1 length of rope for the depth you're in. Amazing how many people will be in 20 ft of water and let out about 25 ft of line and wonder why they drift.

I fish a lake where several pontoon owners have Sea-Legs. They live across the park road from the lake, no dock. They pull it close to shore and when the Sea Legs are extended it pushes the pontoon close to the bank. Pretty neat.

ya the sea legs are a bit much, but they do work great. Seen people on our lake use em at the sandbar.
The best anchor out there is a Fortress in my opinion. Super light (aluminum) and super strong. Just remember to use a piece of chain directly to the anchor, then tie the line to it. They hook first time everytime. Then use a screw in sand anchor for the rear

This works great for my tritoon out deep https://www.ganderoutdoors.com/green...ring%2Fanchors.

However, I prefer to pull it up on the bank and use this: https://www.overtons.com/slide-ancho...30-315939.html

I have a pontoon with sea legs and they are great but like stated only work down to about 6 ft. We pull onto sandbars and just raise the back of the boat up a little. Never moves. And they make sea legs for Tritoons also. The feet are just turned length ways instead of sideways like the pontoon version
