Has anyone put a electric fuel pump on a carb motor? I think it could be done with a 3 to 5 psi pump and add a 3 psi check and a hose back to tank? Pro or Cons?

I ran a Hollley Red Top for 11-12years with no problems, set to 5 psi. The guy that bought the boat after setting up for several years put a new Red Top on and its l doing good. 2.4l, high compression, oil at 32:1. Always started good, idle all day trolling and never miss a lick when you jumped on it.

I had a lot of MODS on the motor, might not work that way for everyone..

I have few carb motors, all have little electric pump , the pulse pump is fine well up into the 7k rpm or so , I run mine off a toggle switch on dash, or u can get a relay kit and hook it to key. I still have my pulse pump , I use a little holley pump to feed that pump pretty much , no more pumping bulb , sit down flip switch and go , been doing it this way for 15 yrs I guess

Happy with low and mid-range punch. Still tinkering with idle. Still have issue with late day hot starts. I thinking it might just be the enthonal in the fuel. I am thinking of checking the popett valve.

Mine starts and idles rough after running through the day and it gets hot out. The idle at first start up is perfect but is plenty rough after it has been run and hot and then cools down after fishing awhile. Think it may just be something with 2 strokes that you have to live with. Buddy of mine's 250 SHO 2 stroke does the same thing in hot Texas weather.

So could you tell any diff. With the crank case stuffers in and have you considered the 1 in. spacer?

Idle seems a little better. Throttle response and mid rpm punch much stronger

The spacer plate is suppose to improve the torque, esp . mid to to top. What year is your pro 185. I have a 97 model that will go.

    Agree on piece of mind.
    I would say this....
Is it better now then prior to non ethonal fuel. No. (Will never be more than likely)
Is it better now since ethonal has been put in gas. Yes.
If I had to guess on a percentage of improvement I would say 10 to 20%

I see it ALL the time. Seems like I loose 2 or 300 rpm every time I use a glass reed. Next time gonna try some little thinner and try get that rpm back
