Fuel pump sprinkler! Could have had a fire!!! Aftermarket

I have a 1995 Evinrude 150hp and my original fuel pump went out 2 years ago. I premix my gas and do not use the oil feature of the stock pump so I ordered a pre-mix vro fuel pump based off a recommendation on BBC.

I started to notice an oil/fuel slick on the water the last time out. Today I took the engine cover off and fround the problem. Im lucky I did not have a fire running around on the lake!!!!

This is what I found when priming.

    This is when idling!!!!

I tried to tighten the screws to try to seal it better, but that did not work. This pump was $200 and hasn't lasted and not sure I want to buy another one. Is there a solution for this? Something that will fix this longer than 2 years?

That is not a good thing, fuel leaks are the number one cause of code 1000, Engine cover launched above expected range.

I took it apart. The seal is bad around the gasket. Ordered a rebuild kit from WSM.

I originally purchased the pump from MasterTech Marine. I've reached out (email, phone) several times, but have not received a response. Is he still in business?
