Need help on Garmin depth reading echomap plus 95sv

right now I am my depth is off when there is heavy weeds on the bottom. If I am in 12 feet of water with 5feet heavy weeds it will read 7 feet depth on electronic. Same as 5 feet water 3 feet heavy weeds it will read depth 2 feet and alarm comes up. Thanks

Yes, with thick weeds Auto Depth will at times read the top of the vegetation as the bottom. To display true bottom, just set it to a manual depth range, a few feet more than the actual depth (say 15-20 feet given your example).

Thanks for the reply. And should I play with Gain a little bit?

Yes, forgot to mention that. Over thick grass, yes to display the bottom below the grass well, the sensitivity needs be in manual, say 50-65%

Thanks. Try it out. It worked. Around 55 gain. Quick question how low the gain can go? Sonar start fading but CV is still crystal clear.
