    Pick up tube

Not really an engine specific problem, but every time i get below half a tank of gas my boat cuts out and dies, sometimes cruising down the lake, and it also cuts out when i get on plane and the nose raises up. When its full it runs fine. Shop put a new pick up tube (hose) in it and i just dont think its sitting on the bottom. Is there any easy way to make sure it gets to the bottom? I assume it already has some sort of weight on it, i havent pulled the new one out yet to investigate, but it had the exact problem with the old pick up tube also. Also every part of the fuel system has been replaced from the tank to the carbs with Merc parts due to this problem, so i know it has to be something with the tank
