Mercury 200 efi cutting off

Motor cuts off while running on plane when you hit the up trim button.
Serial # OT143373 2000 200 efi
Only cuts off when on plane.

Check the cannon-plug connection- clean male pins, spread male pins slightly with an exacto knife, reconnect and strap connector to the electrical plate in the recess provided.

Also check the grounds for the solenoid plate (and the trim solenoids), as well as battery cable connections at BOTH ends.

I had exact problem two weeks ago. Check both wires going to the top of fuel pump. Sometimes the female blade connectors don't have good connection. crimp them little tighter

With ignition switch on, trim motor up and see if fuel pump shuts off. You have to do it quick because fuel pump only stays on for like 30 seconds if no fuel is being used.
