    Vermilion

Thinking of going to vermilion with the wife in early aug. we are social distancing . Would you recommend good restaurants with outdoor seating. What baits do I need to take?intrested in catching biggest bass possible (largemouth or smallmouth ) anybody got an old lakemaster chip they want to sell? Where’s the best option for groceries on the south side of the lake? Any bbc members live up that way that want to meet up for (outdoor) cocktails or dinner?

    thanks

Tower is a good start you can drive your boat into town via a channel from the lake you park your boat and can walk to get groceries or bait up to you. There’s 2 places to eat that I can think of. But not sure with the Covid stuff going on. Just look out at the entrance of the channel I hit a rock last year wrecked my prop been thru a dozen times before no problems. As for baits I have no idea I fish musky when there. Good luck

We just got back from there. In Tower, there is a Zups. However, along the way up there are grocery stores in Virginia and Cook. We did eat at a bar/grill (Benchwarmers, I think) in Tower and it was good food and they were not busy. We ate indoors but they had outdoor seating. We stayed at Fortunes Bay Casino and they had outdoor seating at the golf course grill. We caught some nice smallmouth during our trip. We mainly hit docks and a few islands with boulders. We had a few big ones, biggest probably around 3.5-4 lbs. We have been to Vermillion quite a bit but we did explore a little more this year by going all the way to Wauconda Bay. Good luck. V is a great lake with some good fishing.

We caught on wacky, top water, and finesse plastics around docks and bolders the first week in June. Norwegian Bay is good for smallies.

Just got home tonight. Boy... it was tough! Green Bay has spoiled me into thinking I’m pretty good with the smallies. Turns out it was Green Bay that was “good” and I’m a mediocre fisherman. If you go to www.classicbass.com it’s the web site for the champions tour. They had a vermilion tournament on July 31, just before I got up there and they caught tons of fish. Wife and I had a great time. It is a beautiful lake. Good luck up there. Take a good map card and watch out for rocks

FYI... That lake is LOADED with an invasive crayfish. You see them everywhere. They are a tanish yellow to kind of a light olive green color

Love the videos! Congrats on the results! I will have to try to use the stupid tube a bit more.
Thanks or the tip on the heading sensor last night on the live chat, I am looking into it now. Not the cheapest!
