    Lower unit leaking fluid.

My Sporty lower unit is leaking fluid from the front top seem where the lower meets the mid. The fluid is running down the front of the gear case and dripping of of the bottom of the nose cone. I noticed it when I was getting ready to change out the fluid for maintenance so it eliminates the possibility of overfill.

Agreed- while it's off it should be pretty easy to confirm whether it's GEAR oil or ENGINE oil.
