Just received my 1st ALX rod.

I am impressed with the craftsmanship, and look forward to using it next weekend.

How has everyone's experience been that has used them?

I love the 2 I have. Eventually I hope to only fish ALX.

Got a Zolo "Deputy" a month or so ago. Only used it twice, for bladed jigs. New technique to me, but I have used it enough to boat a 2-ish Smallmouth the first trip and a 3-3.5-ish Largemouth the second. Fishing hasn't been great, but I like the rod a lot. Have a Chronarch on it with 17 lb P-Line CXX.

I ordered it straight from ALX. FedEx did their best to lose it, but ALX jumped on them and got it moving again. It had gotten as far as Troutdale, Oregon, and stopped there for a couple of days, when I got an email from ALX, asking how I liked the rod! I took the opportunity to tell them that it had only gotten to Troutdale, and was parked there. ALX has impressive follow-up service, IMO.

Their 10% discount gave me a price below their free shipping total, so I added a few hook keepers, which I'll put on some other rods that have none. That saved me the shipping cost, which is significant.
Don't bother me, I'm screwing for virginity.

I killed a 12-pack just to watch it die.

Have 4 or 5 of them. Seem a little on the heavy side compared to equally priced rods.
One of them is the Ben Parker magnum spoon rod and it is amazing! I believe they quit making it though.

I had 2. They felt heavy and lacked sensitivity.

A few months ago i broke my "deep" cranking rod which was an old David Fritts American Rodsmith CB rod. That was the only one i had but didnt use it a whole lot. The deepest CB i throw is a 10' range....well, started the search and came on here looking to see what others had. No pro so just wanted to keep the cost down....come across the ALX rods and took a look on website. At $150, that is the most expensive rod i'd get so tried my luck. Tried it out this past weekend and it was like having nothing in my hands and with little effort to cast a mile long and reel back in.....no i dont get into all brands and what the best, etc. but i have to say, very impressed with how comfortable it was to use COMPARING to the one that broke. It was a night n day difference and didn't wear me out. I could only imagine what the other ALX rods feel like.

I've got 8 in all series plus 2 I built using their blanks and components. Slowly crept up from the IKOS to the Zolo and then the Enox. I even bought an older Vyro series rod from a guy here on BBC, just so I could say that I had one. LOL! Great rods with even better customer service.

Thinking of a Enox Charmer, would love to put one in my hand to try.

ALX offers quality rods. Not saying this brand is better or worse than other brands. Have no dog in that fight. But I can say the Deputy is one fine fishing rod.

I don't think you can go wrong with the Deputy.

Good feedback. Great to hear about the customer service, that is important when pooping $200 for a rod.

I received the toadface, and will have a deputy on my doorstep on Tuesday. I have been with Razr for the past few years, and looking to see how they compare.
