Coin Shortage

Does anyone know why all of a sudden there is a coin shortage? Banks claim they can't get any and will only give out a limited amount. If anybody has any quarters laying around I would gladly exchange paper money for them!

Coins aren't circulating like normal. The federal reserve is limiting what they send out to banks. Quarters seem to be the problem.

My wife works at a bank and they are asking employees to bring in their change. Lots of info on line about it.

Damn, didn't know that. I have lots of change that I put in a jar from my pockets each day. Usually put in the Salvation Army till at Christmas. I'm rich bitch!

I think the use of plastic to buy so many things the past many years has dictated that actual money(coins&paper) are just not used as much therefor the demand to use/replace is not like it use to be. Maybe with the virus has a lot of people thinking it is a way it can be easily transferred. Just a thought. I never carry change in my pockets anymore but on rare occasions. I empty my pockets when ever i go fishing in the boat. The floor at the drivers seat sometimes has to be picked up because there is so much.

I have a coin laundry and self serve carwash, people are getting quarters out of my changers but using them somewhere else!!!!

Well that sucks.

I had one guy come in and I told him if he wasn't washing he couldn't get quarters, he put his twenty dollar bill in anyway, I turned the breaker off. He got some quarters and left. I turned the breaker back on and another 5.50 came out of the changer.

I was in Lowes yesterday and a sign states if you receive cash on a return it would be put on a merchandise card due to the coin shortage.
