I've had the same issue on my '09 250xs for a couple years now. Don replaced all my injectors and coil harness and it still does the same dance at WOT. A lil uneasy feeling when it suddenly "drops" the nose at about 78!!

Well... just to clarify, you had an Air Compressor Failure, and the rails/injectors were cleaned and serviced (Direct Injectors were replaced). Be glad to talk to you about this- it's been about 27 months since we last saw it.

Let's try not to confuse this thread, though.

I wasn't saying anything negative about any service Don. I never even mentioned your name or business. This condition was the very issue I brought it to you for. You replaced ALL Direct Injectors before we went to try to find the problem on the laptop and the compressor failed. I had no problems with any of your work and would bring it back anytime I have an issue that a hometown shop cant fix. I'll just watch from the sidelines.

    Savage,
What has been happening with your diagnosis?
Had been following thread and interested if you found a resolution.

#1 fuel injector looks like it was dragged across the floor, or a bench grinder wheel. Certainly NOT in BRAND NEW condition.

Be interesting to see if that is actually the problem. It does look bad but does it affect the operation of the injector? My vote is "not sure".

Additionally the direct injectors for cylinders #4 and #6 (retested bad this time) also did not pass dynamic testing and will be replaced. The replacement parts will be arriving Monday and the motor might be tested on the water this coming Tuesday. Fingers crossed that those three items ( Two DI and One FI) will get the motor back were it should be.

No CHANGE! I even tried a brand new crank position sensor.

Barely mustered 5400 RPM while testing at WOT.

The two brand new direct injectors and one fuel injector didnt help.

I'm ready to take a sledge hammer to it!!!

I know little and much less about PCM programming but DBR claims they took out “lean spots” in original programming making it even more reliable. If so much goes in to program, maybe there is a lean spot or something else in your PCM causing a soft guardian mode issue?
