    AVX 1880 prop question

I have a new AVX 1880 with a Yamaha 115 SHO and it came with a 4 blade 19P Trophy plus prop. Does anyone have knowledge of how this prop will perform and maybe what everyone is using for their prop choice. I’ve never owned a 4 blade prop, so that is new for me. Does it provide better hole shot or overall performance?

I also asked a prop question and got not feedback in another thread. Can't help with the yamaha as i have the G2. But i have a 3 blade raker and i've touched 51 by myself with the current. I get 45-47 against the current (pool 14 mississippi) with a partner and tournament load. I'd be interested to see your numbers when you are done breaking in.

I’ll let you know once I get it broke in. I too am kinda surprised in the lack of response on the topic. I’ll ask my question in the Tin group and see what folks say. Seems to be more activity there.

I'm not sure there are a lot of SHOs out there. I have the same problem when I ask about 135HOs.

What top end speed and RPMs are you getting with that trophy on the sho? How is your hole shot?

Great hole shot! Jumps out nice with 1 or 2 people. 5800-6000 range getting 45-47mph. By myself with half fuel I can get 47-48mph. I have hit 49 once. I do have to really trim up a lot to get the best speed. It is more than I would have thought, but this is the first pad hull I’ve owned. So this may be normal.

Yes they get their best speed usually at full trim. I think I am going to try the 19 pitch trophy on my 1880. I am running to my rpms on mine currently.
