    first kill

A couple of years ago I purchased a custom 6mm BR to ground hog hunt with. After finally reaching a goal of killing a ground hog over 300 yards with a .223 I got to break out the 6BR for something more than paper. I am using a 87 gr V-max with 31.0 gr of Varget. Well the first ground hog with my 6BR was at 278 yards. That 87gr V-max was impressive even at that distance. It did a number on that critter. Exploded was a understatement. It is still a pretty accurate bullet too. Next goal---500 yard kill with the 6BR.

Sorry, always wanted to try it. But a 6mm I have hunted with for years with a 90 grain nosler tips and that round never disappoints on deer and pigs. Furthest shot I’ve made was 400yrds. Don’t have anything further than that and has dropped everything where it stands. Excellent round

I used to shoot a lot of groundhogs......loved it. Don't get to do it so much anymore due to losing hunting ground because of the older generation dying out and new ownership taking over. I tell you a fun caliber to use and that is a 204 Ruger...….the recoil is low enough that you can see the red mist through the scope. Longest ranged shot I have taken groundhogs with mine is 492 yards...…..that is a long poke with a 32 grain bullet, but at over 4,000 FPS it don't take it long to get there.

The last one I shot at was a very lengthy distance of about 25 ft. Yup missed the damn thing and hit a sprinkler head instead. $20 in the toilet...

I purchased a 20 tactical a little while back. That is very very similar to the .204. I have a load fine tuned and ready to go. I am going to try a 40 gain bullet just under 4ooo fps. That caliber is a bad little sucker.
