Trim gauge issues on a year 2008 Champion 188cx with 200 Optimax

The seals were just replaced on my trim tabs and tilt on my 200 hp Optimax. The trim gauge is not showing an accurate reading. The needle shoots through the entire range of the original Faria gauge with only a short tilt of the motor. I don't know whether to replace the puck on the lower unit or the trim gauge. I cleaned the ground on the puck with no change. Thanks for the help in advance.

I'd definitely look at the sending unit on the T&T unit. Here's a link for troubleshooting.
