    Wiring question parallel and series???

Question. 3 batteries....can 2 be wired in series for 24v trolling motor....AND another house battery and one of the trolling batteries be running in parallel through a battery selector switch ? What do you think?

this is for a bay boat, that usually does not use the trolling motor much....of it matters.

Yes. You should establish where the battery on the trolling setup is with the lowest (0) volts on the Negative terminal. Hook that one in parallel with the main battery.

A house battery is a reference to a separate battery that takes some of the load off the main battery. I don't know what you will gain with this setup, however. You can substitute the word main and house in the first paragraph.

Yes, but I'm assuming you're trying to set up a switch that can be used to "Jump" the main battery if it becomes too weak to start the big motor.

An even better solution is to use the Trollbridge 12X24. When not using the trolling motor BOTH trolling batteries are available for 12 volt house loads and are isolated from the starting battery so house loads will never leave you with a dead starting battery and all 3 batteries get charged from the alternator. ONLY when the trolling motor is running, the trolling batteries are automatically connected is series to give you 24 volts.
