    2006 175HP OPTIMAX..........BLOWN MOTOR..........WHAT ARE THE BEST RE-POWER OPTIONS?

    SERIAL # 1B350070

Heading up river during a tournament, 12 miles into the run, 5600 RPMs,
slight knocking sound the boom........high volume single alarm,
immediate shutdown, it cranks, pees water,
but, barely can turn the prop, and sounds like
    something painfully knocking........REAL LOUD.

Located in central AR, lower unit is good,
compressor is good, replaced a few months ago.
What the best places for re-power options?

I have a few referrals for Duck River,
would like to carry the boat somewhere for
a breakdown of motor, and a few options
    for remanufactured powerhead, new 4-stroke,
    etc.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I have you checked the compressor? Maybe it went out, would be an easier fix than a blown motor.

    BUMP FOR CLOSURE.

Took the boat the Duck River Marine. Powerhead was fine, it was the lower unit that went out, causing noise and lock up. While at shop, we replaced some 14 yr old stuff........tracker valve, oil pump, thermostats, poppet valves, cleaned the injectors. Got it back, runs like new......AKA, the black dog is back eat'n! Shout out to Brian and his team. thx,
