Southern Utah jig bite is ON!

I hit a few of my spots at Sand Hollow for only a few small fish. Then I went to my deep spots. Surface temp was right around 74 degrees and according to my notes that is when things start to pop. First cast into 43 ft and i catch this Toad! Then I made a short move. Ending up catching 10 in a row. Ended the spot with 18 fish all caught in 40 ft if water. Off the lake at 11:30 with 26 fish. 2D76456E-C840-46A1-BF84-26CF408874DE.jpeg
Another great day in Southern Utah.

Sand Hollow is where I started bass fishing. It's a trek to get up there but we tried to go a minimum of once/month and sometimes twice a month when I was stationed at the Air Force base down in Vegas. Its where I learned to wacky rig... to flip flooded brush... to deep crank... to fish a ledge and to fish humps. Its got a special place in my heart! One of my favorite days of fishing was a fairly hot day... there were 6 or 7 boats parked on that northeast ledge off the cliff. Some of them had been there hours when I pedaled by on my Hobie dragging a deep crank and screaming "Fish On" every 10 or 15 minutes as I caught fish after fish.

Small world. I just Moved my Son to Goose creek, SC last month. He is starting nuclear power school this month.
Visited Palmetto Armory in Summerville. You live in Bass fishing Nirvana!

Sand Hollow is a mostly unknown bass lake in Southern Utah. Several bass fishing shows are filmed there every year. For us local guys the fishing is good year round. If you want to learn how to fish deep it’s the place as you know. The east end has stayed flooded the last few years, so we now have a frog and top water bite.
