2020 Caymas cx 20 pro with a merc 250 pro xs 4 stroke??

I've been currently running a worked 25 tempest plus worked by Mark with pretty good results. With 50 gallons of fuel, and a full tournament load I was at 5900 Rpms getting 72 to 73 mph. Until today when It threw a blade. My question is should I go back with a worked 25 tempest plus or should I try a worked 24 tempest plus? I make long river runs at times so that should be considered. Would the 24 help me pick up more speed? Should be noted when I'm alone I can run 75 to 76 around 6000 Rpm fairly regular with the 25. The worked 25 tempest plus that I had was put to stock with added cup..

The prop that came with the boat was a 25 fury. Today at full tournament load was 5650 around 70 to 71 mph..

Imo, your worked tempest was worked down to close to 24 if the tach is correct, i would go with a 24 and have it worked, 24 tempest generally is not very good out of the box, but it will be easier to keep your rpms where they need to be

24" tempest worked to factory spec is what I'd try since your a few hundred low on rpm's.

My tach is correct. It is a smart craft. I should have noted when it let loose it was more around 5800 rpm I was running the heaviest load I ever had in my boat. Mark worked the prop to factory spec with cup added a few years ago. So it was a true 25.

A 25 tempest with cup added would be closer to a 26 than a 24. A 24 checked and made true to factory spec would add 200 rpm's to that 5900 and should give you a better hole shot with the same speed.

If it would give me the same speed I would definitely go with a 24. The 25 hole shot and quickness is crazy fast.
