    Clear Lake

Just got back from 4 days at Clear Lake and it was AWESOME !! Jigs, Senkos, Drop Shot all produced !! Couldn't get a good Frog, Crank or Swimbait bite going tho we sure did try ! North lake was really weeded in and an ugly scum on the water. Hard to fish and maneuver ! Red bud blew us out on the 3rd day so we went back to the South lake (Rattle Snake) and were well rewarded !! Best day, Best 5 went 24.11 Anchored by a 7.76 for me and 19.10 with a 5.98 for my Son-in-Law !!

Nice looking fish and looks like you had some decent weather along with it.

I’ll be back out there at the end of July! Finally moving back after being gone for the last two years. Nice to see the lake is still kicking out plenty of fish!

When I go up I go through the wine country so much nicer. Going to sac and out that way is boring faster but boring. I like to stop in yountsville at the german deli lol.

For someone going to spend 3-5 days on the lake...where do folks recommended staying with morring? Not looking for a 5 Star. Thanks

If you really want mooring, Konocti Vista Casino (800) 386-1950 is where most like to stay and they have the best docks on the lake. Priced ok and clean rooms. The North part of the lake is pretty weedy right now and has a scum on the surface. There are a lot of places we couldn't get in to and move around. There were 3 of us this trip with 2 boats. We did an Air BNB in Lower Lake and it worked well for us. Had a fenced and locked gate, slept 4 guys, and then we trailered to the area we wanted to fish that day. You'll need to get a Quagga permit($20) at one of the tackle stores or at the casino motel snack shop before launching. It's only good for the Month you are there. If you split the month, it's $20 for each month.

Nice fish, my son and granddaughter just fished clearlake the other day, they went out of Redbud Park . Caught a few nice ones, super dirty water/ algae filled. I usually try to go once a month.
Doing a night trip there 1st weekend of August, full moon.
It's what the wife and I do every year for our anniversary.

Topwater bites been awesome .Fished last Thursday till about 11:00 am caught fish on frogs and buzzbaits all morning and the jig bite is good.Should be a good crankbait bite but i cant do that very long anymore. Had several around 4 pounds.Water was 75 at first light . Algae bloom is bad in some areas but there is some clear water to fish .
