What's the best set back that anyone has used? Mine has a 6" and I have a 2011 250 pro xs with a 27 fury 3 it runs between 73 74 but the bow bobs up and down a bit . I've heard more set back will help. Any help is appreciated!

8-10 better but do you have enough cables and hoses to allow more setback? has wood transom so be sure it is solid also

Yeah it's got enough for 10" and the ol boat is in really good condition
I run 8 inches of setback with mine and the motor is 2.75 inches below pad. I run a tempest plus 24 inch prop and get all the bow lift I need with my 200, so you should be good to go with a 250. Not to insult you, but are you sure you are not chine walking? Mine starts chine walking at about 65 mph when the conditions are just right.

Yeah it will do that also in the 60s I can trim it down a bit and it stops the bow bob
8 inch should be good . Don't want to put to much on the old girl .
Sounds like your prop ran out of bite on the water to lift the bow. In other words you were over-trimmed.
I've got an 8" slidemaster for sale if you're interested
