    What size Tempest Plus

Currently run a 3 blade 24 Fury to 5900 rpms on a 2019 Merc 250 4S with a light to moderate load. Want to try a Tempest Plus and get to 6100 to 6200 rpm's. Do I need a 24 or 25 Tempest Plus?

I also run a 24p Fury and see 5900 at 73.5 fully loaded. Tried a 25p Tempest and lost 200 rpm. Boat drives way different with the Tempest. I went back to the Fury.

23 or 24 tempest, you may hit the rev limiter in cool weather with the 23

Something was wrong with the tempest if you lost 200 rpms. I run a 24 fury to 5900 and ran a 25 tempest to 6k and was a tad faster on my 919 and had more lift. I would go with a 24 tempest should put you around 6100.

A 25 temp will run right at the same rpm as your fury. A 24 will get you in the rpm range you want. But be prepared to send it to a prop shop because tempest arent even close out of the box, especially even pitch

So if I want 200 more rpm’s than my 24 fury it sounds like a 23 Tempest would work since my numbers are light load. Might be close to limiter light but roght on with load.

Sorry. I meant a 24 Tempest. Seems to be the way to go since my 20 PHX is about the same as what you are running.

Right, but a tempest will need some work to run good. Get with Josh at Steve's custom props at lake fork. He can make a tempest run. You might could get a 23, add a little pitch and cup to get the lift and speed and still turn the rpms you want. He will be able to help you

I dropped to a 23 Fury and hit 6100-6200 at 74.5mph. I put a 24P Temp+ on and am able to raise the JP up a half inch and hitting 6100-6200 at 76mph

What's it take to get croxton to drop a 25 tempest a half a pitch? Or an I better off finding a 24 and just working it?

A lot of people say it is better to go up in pitch and not down.....not sure the science behind that but Croxton is the guy which ever way you decide to go IMO
