HELP - Not seeing detail in SI

Hello, I usually fish for bass and pike. Below is a list of the electronics I have onboard. I've never really got the SI to work correctly. Is there some settings that I have wrong, or is there a specific startup routine that needs to be followed?

Trolling Motor - Minn Kota Terrova, Model: 1358858, US2, IPLink, BT


The trolling motor, both Helix units, and the transducer are connected to the Ethernet switch. The sonar from the trolling motor transducer is connected to the Bow unit.

There is some information in the "All Sonar Information" stickie at top of page that can help. Nothing in the startup sequence would improve the imaging but if you are only using a transom transducer for both units, then would need to start the unit with it connected first. Are you using latest software? Some settings have changed throughout several updates. Another consideration would be the transducer. You are using the "compact" version transducer and the HDSI version can improve images (XHS 9 HDSI 180 T).

Thanks for the help. I did update the software just a couple of days ago, so maybe that will help. I just ordered the better transducer also. Thanks for your help.

Just for the sake of it, did you adjust your sensitivity and contrast? You can be so out of whack on that you will not see anything. I would go set that at 10 on both setting(good starting point) and see if anything shows up.
