    03 ox66 225hp help needed.

Ok here's my problem ( hope it's minor). I have a 225 vmax 3.1 fuel inj manufactured in 4/03. On two different occasions this week I've had a issue with power loss while running, then not enough power getting back on plane. Both times I've been in the middle of a run, around 60 mph and all of a sudden the boat just starts losing power and slowing down. So I come down off pad and come to a stop then try and get back up on pad and go, but the engine doesn't have enough power to get back up. So, if I turn the engine off and sit for 2 or 3 mins it fires right back up and runs like normal. Replaced plugs, fuel filter, all normal maintenance items last year. Any ideas of what may be causing this issue? Thanks.

How old are the 3 manual fuel pumps?

I'm not sure. I've had the boat 4 years now and I haven't replaced them.

There are 3 pumps located on the port side. If purchased from Sim Yamaha, the total cost will be about $130.00. The part number is: 6E5-24410-03-00 (remember, you need 3 of them)

You say that the power starts to drop. If you back off with the throttle and then give it gas, does the speed and power return to normal? If so, you may need to clean (or replace) the O2 sensor and the tube behind the sensor.
