Mats are thick enough to punch. Sinko/ yum dinger between the mat and the bank or the outside of the mat is usually good

I was there last weekend. Get there early as it was an absolute zoo in the afternoon. Every parking spot in Paul Ice was full including all the grassy area and rigs were parking down the road, the main ramp was full as well with rigs parked out on the road as well.

Bass Fishing was ok. We had 6 good solid keepers and at least 12 shorts. Top water bite ok, plastics seem to be the ticket. some fish at the bank in he shade, but most in 8'to 12' of water.
Weather 5:30am rain, 6:30 no rain, cloudy most of the day, lite winds. Had the lake t ourselves, saw 5 other boats-1 bassboat, 2 buthole boats, 2 pontoons. Saw 4 more bass and crappie boats putting in at the ramp, pulled out at 2:45pm

Looking to do an over night bass trip with a buddy, have been to Kinkaid a couple times never overnight. Is the main ramp open due to covid? Any recommendations for near by hotels with good boat parking? Hows the restaurants in the area due to covid?

    Thanks in advance

All ramps on Kincaid are open, also restroom facilities. Bass fishing is decent, a buddy and I fished Monday morning from 5:30-11:30 and caught 15 fish from 1-3 lbs. Caught 2 on topwater, rest on Neko rig or shaky head finesse worm. Points off weedlines in 8-12 ft. were the best for us.

Good hotels and restaurants in nearby Murphysboro(5 min. away) or Carbondale(15 min. away) Sorry no info on restaurants, we drive over from Cape Girardeau, Mo. and drive straight back. If open, 17th Street Grill in Murphysboro has excellent BBQ!
