Ok. I got my friends reed block sooner than I expected. Can't go to the water with Isaias lurking so it'll have to wait. You tube video below. I think it's a winner!

Why did you replace the reed "block"? Didn't you replace ALL of the reeds?

Only the top reed was damaged but whatever went through it, damaged the reed block. My friend gave me a reed block assy with the reed petals. I know it is hard to see with low definition pictures. How does it sound?

Those rubber coated reed blocks will deteriorate over time too. I sanded all the rubber off the blocks when i rebuilt my 300x a few years ago and the reeds still look perfect. This is a much more reasonable choice than getting ripped off by Mercury on new reed blocks.

Yeah. I was able to get a reed block cheap. 500 bucks apiece is absurd.

Went out today. I guess I had forgotten how good this boat runs. For the longest time I’ve been jerking wheel right to left to rock boat so I can “ventilate to accelerate”
By myself, 3/4 tank, purposely filled both live wells up on plane no problem
    Thanks everyone for your help.
