stocking up for chick in Oct

Coming down around the same time as the elite series in Oct and I've never been to any of the TVA lakes in the fall. What would be some good baits to stock up on before the elites get there and every store sells out of everything.

If the grass is matted, frog bite will be on.
Plus that time of year, keep a lipless crank and a top water tied on for schooling fish.

that is awesome news! We fish frogs a ton here locally. I was thinking maybe it would be a ledge or some type of cranking bite. Frogs is good to hear!

That depends on the temps, water flow, lots of variables.

Can hard topwater baits like spooks and whopper ploppers be as effective as frogs in October/November? Or is there too much grass?
