    Pulling a Towable Tube???

I have an 05 Pro Team 185 with a 60 hp on the back of it. Right now I am using the tie downs with the Y rope connected to both of them for pulling my sons on their tube. Having some issues as the rope going back to the tube is dragging in the wake directly behind the motor and causing some resistance causing it to pull a little harder. Have thought about a ski pole to get it higher in the air, but dont want to ruin my deck by putting one in. Also thought about what is called a Towable Booster which is a big ball that is half way between the boat and tube to keep the rope out of the water.

Just wondering what some of you have come up with to help with this issue.

I was checking on this a couple of years ago. The seat pedestal isn't designed to take that kind of force, go with the ball.

I have a 2016 - PT 175 with a 60 HP and I was pulling someone on a tube this weekend and I was having a hard time getting the boat to plain out. Do I need the ball? Would a different pitch prop help? Also seems to be slow to plain out of the hole with another person in the boat. I have the prop that came with the motor and was thinking I need a different prop?

Is the 13P Trophy Sport a 3 or 4 blade? Will I loose any top end speed? something like this? https://www.boatpropellerwarehouse.c...r-48-878614a46. what about the spitfire 4 blade 13p? https://www.amazon.com/Mercury-Spitf...XZ752DP2A0TVQ8

    thanks

Yes on the trophy. If you go with the spitfire, I would go with a 14p. I tried a 13p years ago when they first came out. Insane! Holeshot, but rpms was pegging 6000 at half throttle. If your only going to use it while towing. It mite not be a bad idea.

I lost 1 mph with the trophy. But it is way better in all other areas, than a 3 blade prop.

Have wanted to do this with my boys for a while but no experience with tubes. Any recommendations or tips on a good all around tube? PT 190 with a 90 hp Optimax. Thanks!

We have this one with a Towable Booster Ball. My 2 boys love it and doesn’t give you any burns like some can.
