I've seen a bunch of posts bragging about how much of a do all rod this is for bottom contact applications. I have a few NRX's and they definitely live up to their hype. I guess my question is how do you guys like it as a dedicated Carolina Rig rod?

I have two of them and only use them to C-rig. I usually throw a 3/4 oz weight and they throw it well. Very sensitive, very fun to fish with.
Very good for all around use. Jig, Texas rig, bigger weightless plastic, swim jig. Some guys use them for paddle tail swimbaits and bigger single hook baits like chatterbaits and spinnerbaits. It is very much at home with anything 3/8 oz to 5/8 oz. That is the extent of the weight range I have used and it is perfect for it
I use mine mostly for wobble heads in the 1/2 to 3/4 oz range, So kinds lie dragging a c rig. Love the rod for that app.
Anybody got an extra one? I would love to find one.
Yup, that's how I got mine - on this forum !
I think it would be great but I'd buy the 894 if you find a deal. I gave up my 873 when the 894 came out. Maybe a touch stouter and 2 inches longer. One might argue the 873 has better balance but not matter when you are throwing a ball and chain rig. go with what you can get a deal on

I had the 873 and sold it. The 873 wasn't my favorite, prefer the 894 much more.
The hook up tackle sells Demo NRX rods. That’s were I snagged my 873. Fantastic all around rod. I use it for my lighter jig fishing.
